South Africa are the top seeds for this year’s Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens tournament to be hosted by Kenya at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa ground from November 13-17, 2025.
John Bosco Muamba, the tournament director released the fixtures of the tournament, the last of the Rugby Africa calendar. The men’s tournament was hosted by Mauritius for the second year.
The women’s tournament will comprise four pools of three teams with each winner proceeding to the knock-out quarter final. The winner will represent Africa at the World Rugby Sevens World Series 2 tournament (formerly World Rugby Challenger Series).
Muamba said Rugby Africa were working out details for a possible Africa Sevens Circuit. “For now, Herbert Mensah, the Rugby Africa president is in consultations with various Unions,” he stated. The need for an African circuit arises due to a reduction of tournaments under the new format by World Rugby.
Most of the coaches, past and present have said this was a move in the right direction.
