Kenya Shujaa, the defending Safari Sevens champions have been drawn in Pool A of the 29th event that kicks off on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Nyayo National Stadium. They face Uganda national sevens champions Walukuba Rugby from 7.18 pm. 

Other teams in this pool are the U.K. Select Side and French Renegades. Morans, the second Kenyan side, are in Pool C with Zimbabwe, Apache and ReUnion. They will be up against ReUnion from  5.28 pm. 

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), winners of the national sevens circuit, are placed in Pool B with Shogun, Uganda and Nyati. They open against Shogun at 6.12 pm).

In the women’s category, Costa Blanca Barbarians from Spain, winners of last year’s tournament, are the top seeds. They are in Pool A with Shogun, Kenya Cubs and Mwamba Select. Kenya Lionesses are in Pool B where they will face vUganda, Belgium, and Tunisia.

The tournament will follow a three-day format that was recently adopted by World Rugby with the top two teams automatically qualifying for the knock-out quarter finals on the third day.
