Philip Wokorach has joined Rugby Club Orleaans on a two year contract. The player who is currently in Mauritius with Uganda’s Rugby Cranes who are chasing a qualification for next year’s World Rugby Challenger Series announced his move on social media.

Wokorach who until recently played for Bedarrides for four seasons in Nationale 2 will be up against his old club when the season starts. RCO have just been promoted to Nationale 2. The post on Instagram read: “I chose RCO for the ambition of the club, the interesting project, and the excellent season they just had.”

In New Zealand, Portia Woodman-Wickliffe is set to retire from rugby after the Olympics in Paris, France later this month. She also posted her decision on Instagram. The post read”After 12 incredible years representing New Zealand in 7s and 15s, the upcoming Paris Olympics will be my last time in the black jersey.”

She continued: “Rugby has provided me more than a career, it’s given me a second Whanau in my sisters, opportunities to see the world and experience things I never would have otherwise.”

Elsewhere, Jerry Tuwai, a former Fiji 7s has been included in the squad to the Olympics. The two-time Olympic champion won gold in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
