Uganda’s Rugby Cranes are up against the same teams they played in the first leg of the Africa Rugby Sevens for the second leg of the tournament which kicks off on July 7, 2020 in Mauritius.

For the first time, the winner of the competition will be decided on a two leg format instead of a one-leg play off. The cumulative points over the two legs will decide the final rankings with the two best teams qualifying for next year’s World Rugby Challenger Series.

In the 2025 Challenger Series, teams qualifying in Mauritius will play against some of the teams who lost their World Rugby core status at the end of this season. Two teams, Kenya and South Africa are not in contention but have sent development sides to Mauritius.

Morans face Madagascar

Kenya Morans who finished sixth in the first leg have been drawn in Pool B where they face first-leg runners up Madagascar to whom they lost 5-7 at the pool stage. Zambia and Algeria are the other teams in this pool.

Bronze medalists, South Africa renew their rivalry with Zimbabwe and also play against the hosts Mauritius and Nigeria in Pool C. The top two teams automatically qualify for the quarter finals where they will be joined by the two best qualifiers. The rest drop to the ninth place play offs.
