The streets of Madrid were decked in the colors of one of their favorite teams Real Madrid who were due to play in a Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

For the past three days, the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has been a beehive of activity. The stadium which at the moment seats 81,000 spectators and 85,000 after renovations hosted American singer Taylor Swift for two days with fans coming from everywhere for the inaugural tour. 

On Saturday, football fans freely walked around the stadium in anticipation of the final. Vendors capitalized on the final fever by doing brisk business selling Real Madrid merchandise.

Even rugby fans were caught in the craze, torn between wearing the colors of their rugby team or that of Real Madrid. Ateletico Madrid’s home stadium is hosting a three-day rugby tournament.
