There are three changes to the Kenya Sevens team, Shujaa for the third World Rugby Challenger Series in Munich, Germany.

Patrick Odongo who missed traveling to Montevideo, Uruguay because of injury has been included in the squad. Herman Humwa makes his first appearance and Kabras Sugar’s Brian Tanga also returns. They replace Dennis Abukuse, Elvis Olukusi, and Ben Salem Odoyo as the head coach Kevin Wambua and his assistant Louis Kisia aim for a top finish in Munich.

Shujaa share the podium with Uruguay after two tournaments despite having scored less points. In Munich, Kenya has been drawn in a tough Pool C which has Chile, Japan and Portugal.

The inclusion of Humwa provides the technical bench with added physicality which has been provided by Kevin Wekesa, Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi. Tanga brings in additional experience at scrum-half, a key position to dictate  the pace of the game.

With a place in the play-off in Madrid, Spain almost confirmed, the focus in Germany would be polishing up before playing in Spain to regain a core status. Already, the likely opponents in Spain are already known.

The bottom four teams after the World Rugby Sevens Series tournament in Singapore are the USA, Canada, Spain and Samoa.

Shujaa squad: Vincent Onyala, Tony Omondi, Kevin Wekesa, John Okoth, Brian Tanga, George Ooro, Pattrick Odongo, Samuel Asati, Herman Humwa, Nygel Amaitsa, Lamech Ambetsa, Chrisant Ojwang.
