Uganda’s Lady Cranes are the winners of the historic All Africa Games Sevens rugby title. They finished unbeaten in the five-team competition at the University of Ghana, Accra.
They opened up with a statement 37-7 win over Tunisia and Ghana 50-7. The Lady Cranes who traveled to Ghana direct from Montevideo, Uruguay after playing at the second World Rugby Challenger Series completed their run with a 32-12 win over Nigeria and kept a clean sheet against Madagascar winning 29-0 in their last match.
The men’s team – also unbeaten – who were to face Kenya Morans were on course to add to Uganda’s medal tally.
